I've been a fan of Transport Group Theatre Company since I saw its site-specific The Boys in The Band, so I'm excited to give away a pair of tickets to the company's new musical The Memory Show. This two-hander about a daughter who comes home to care for her mother who has just been diagnosed with Alzheimer's was written by Sara Cooper (book and lyrics) and Zach Redler (music). It stars Catherine Cox (Baby, Footloose) and Leslie Kritzer (Sondheim on Sondheim, A Catered Affair).

My favorite theater memory was the first time I saw Phantom of the Opera. I was in the last row of the mezzanine with school in the 7th grade...it enthralled me so much whereas I had to force my parents to take me to more shows. My parents used to go prior to my birth, so it was a way to connect us given their past passion. Seeing perfection on stage was hypnotic...and my love of Broadway hasn't changed since.

Probably seeing my first Broadway show, Beauty and the Beast, while on a school trip to NYC and going on my own to get tickets during our free time and feeling all grown up. Plus the show was awesome!
I'll never forget seeing the first preview of Light in the Piazza in Chicago, not knowing anything about it, and I was blown away. There were three separate moments when the hairs on my neck stood up because I was so thrilled by what was going on onstage.
