Contest: Win Tickets to Clybourne Park

Update: The contest is now closed. The winners were picked at random from all the entries. Congratulations Red_Ruby and Kristin D.! Thanks to everyone who entered. If you didn't win, check back here on Monday for a contest for tickets to another awesome Broadway show.

It was touch-and-go there for a while, but Clybourne Park is coming to Broadway. Set in Clybourne Park, the white Chicago neighborhood in Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun, Bruce Norris's Pulitzer Prize-winning play explores race relations in America. The first act takes place in 1959 and the second takes place 50 years later. I loved it at Playwrights Horizons and I can't wait to see it again. If you missed it off-Broadway, you should definitely check it out, especially because the fabulous off-Broadway ensemble is also transferring (including Jeremy Shamos, and you should never miss him in anything).

I have TWO pairs of tickets to the show to give away. To be entered to win tickets, just tell me in the comments why you want to see the show. For an extra entry, tweet about the contest or retweet one of my tweets about it. (Only one tweet or retweet will count for an extra entry.) You must be following on Twitter to win. One winner will be chosen at random on Friday, March 23 at 5:30 p.m. Please include your e-mail address or Twitter handle in the comments so I have a way to contact you if you win. Good luck!

And here's a discount code for tickets (if you're between the ages of 21-35, you can also purchase LincTix):

I've seen the show in DC at Woolly, and I've seen the show at Steppenwolf in Chicago and I'd love to see what another cast can do with this important story.

Two reasons: (i) I have always had a special place in my heart for RAISIN IN THE SUN, so I am curious to see this 'next chapter' in the story; (ii) I went to high school with Pam MacKinnon, and am thrilled that she is making her B'way debut with this production.

The main reason is Jeremy Shamos. The dude is hilarious; his performance in Guttenberg: the Musical was one of the most hilarious things that I have ever seen! I follow you on twitter and have retweeted the contest @bbwithpickles

I'd love to see it because I missed it Off-Bway, and I've never seen Jeremy Shamos in anything! @AshleyRaeBK

I LOVED the play at Playwrights. It felt very much like an instant classic and, of course, Jeremy Shamos was fantastic.

I'm (unfortunately) not familiar with anyone in the cast, but the play itself sounds incredible. I missed its prior runs and would love to see the show for the first time! @itsKristinD

I'm dying to see this show simply because I have heard so many wonderful things about it! The subject matter sounds interesting, and I love seeing fantastic new plays.

I did see this off-Broadway, but I'm dying to see the show again. I think it's an interesting conversation about race and I've love to bring one of my co-workers along with me to see it. @hitormiss

@rhinoriddler I heard that this show tells the story of the same premises with Raisin in the Sun, but in a different perspective. I'm interested in the different styles of cognitive functioning and perceptions in theatre...so I suppose this is something I'd enjoy

While my vote is for Kate (to see her HS classmate on B'way would be cool!), I'd love the second pair. I can only visit NYC 1x/yr & in almost a decade, have only managed to see 1 B'way show :( (Fiddler on the Roof, an old classic.) I'd really appreciate a shot at seeing a new soon-to-be classic! I've retweeted this too.

If it's about Chicago, then count me in.

I want to see the show because I've been so thoroughly disappointed in most of the new plays the past few seasons, but I've heard this one is amazing!

I saw the Julliard production of Clybourne Park and thought it was amazing. I've been anxious to see it finally come to Broadway where it's deserved to be before now.
