Contest: Win Tickets to Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf

Update: The contest is now closed. Thanks to everybody who entered. I really enjoyed reading all your entries. The winner was picked at random. Congratulations @SoloZach! If you didn't win, check back here on Monday for a ticket contest to another new Broadway show.

Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf is back on Broadway starting on September 27. Tracy Letts, Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright of August: Osage County, and Amy Morton, Tony nominated star of August: Osage County, play the dysfunctional couple in this Steppenwolf transfer. I've never seen a production of this play, so I'm looking forward to finally seeing it live. Plus, I'm digging the logo.

I am also excited to give away a pair of tickets. There are two ways to enter:
1) Answer this question in the comments: In the play, George and Martha invite a young couple over for drinks. Which couple, real or fictional, would you like to have drinks with?
2) Tweet about the contest or retweet one of my tweets about it.

You can enter each way once, for a total of two entries. You must be following on Twitter to win. A winner will be chosen at random from all the entries on Friday, September 28 at 5:30 p.m. Please include your e-mail address or Twitter handle in the comments so I have a way to contact you if you win. Good luck!

If you don't win, you can also get discount tickets for performances before October 22 and save 35%:

Tues, Wed, and Thur performances:
$79.50 (reg $127)
$49.50 (reg. $65)

Fri, Sat, and Sun performances:

$59.50 (reg. $75)

Call 212-947-8844 and use code VWNFP831.
Visit BroadwayOffers.com and use code VWNFP831.
Bring this offer to the Booth Theatre (222 W. 45th Street)

The fine print: Not available for October 13, 2012. Restrictions may apply. Offer may be revoked at any time.

I would love to have drinks with the Obamas - could you imagine the stories they'd be able to tell?? :)They seem like such genuinely nice people, too.

I would love to have drinks with Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs. For self-explanatory reasons.

The most romantic couple everv Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. They're extremely intelligent people too. I could learn so much from them on both humanity AND movie history.

I would have LOVED to have drinks with Harvey Milk and Scott Smith! Either before or post-breakup... because before, they were sooo in love (and were starting their "fight" for equality) or post because that's when the majority of his political life happened.

I'm going to have to go with George and Martha. That's one shitshow I'd hate to miss.

So lame, but Rosemary & Thyme. Or Wood & Walters. Or Harriet Walter & Janet McTeer, who are not a couple, but did Mary Stuart together. I realize I'm stretching here.

I love this show, so I would have to go with Elaine Stritch and Ben Gazzara right after the Rock Hudson-inspired break up. It would basically be like being inside the play. The bickering, the wit, the STORIES...I can't even.

Fictional: Kermit & Miss Piggy - Because they can both be very silly & funny but care about serious issues and I think conversation would flow well. As long as their muppetters were allowed to join us, too.

I would love to invite Noam Chomsky and Howard Zinn to dinner because some good intellectual stimulation is what the dining experience is all about :-)

Ernest Borgnine and Ethel Merman

circa day 26 of the marriage

I imagine it would have been better than most of what passes for entertainment today

@SoloZach: Easy! Christopher Guest and Jamie Lee Curtis. I just found out they have been married for decades. Perfection.

I'd love to have drinks with Mr and Mrs Meryl Streep, for obvious reasons.

Drinks with Extreme Democrat (and former Clinton advisor) James Carville and his (equally extreme) Republican wife Mary Matalin (former Bush advisor). Their marriage is so unlikely, completely built on a complete set of not even close to similar sensibilities - they are unbelievably funny together. How they manage to be so happily married is a mystery - well, maybe it's that they are from the Big Easy - New Orleans. There oughta be a play, movie or sitcom on these two.
